The 8 Steps to Mu Alpha Sigma, Inc., Membership
Step 1: Request to attend the Prospective Candidate Interview. Must be a current student in a martial arts program for the past six (6) months or a Blackbelt (with proof of certification). (Email your request to info@masigma.org or complete our Info Form on our webpage – www.masigma.org.) Interview requests are only accepted in February, May, and September.

To be successful at this first Step, take time to prepare for the interview by reviewing our website and social media pages – www.facebook.com/mualphasigma, www.linkedin.com/in/mualphasigmainc, and www.instagram.com/mualphasigmainc
Step 2: Complete the application and submit with the requested documentation. Late applications will not be reviewed; you must request another interview at the next membership drive.
Step 3: Once your application is accepted, you will be scheduled to attend the 2-day mandatory pre-RUSH workshop and pass the pre-RUSH exam with a minimum score of 80%. If you fail the exam, you must wait until the next membership drive and redo the workshop series in order to retake the exam. Upon passing the examination, pay the initiation fee (non-refundable) by deadline.
Step 4: Participate in the 4-Week RUSH by completing a series of assignments with your line sisters.
Step 5: Complete your required Community Service Initiative with line sisters.
Step 6: Submit proof of completion of your Community Service initiative to your mentor.
Step 7: Once Steps 1 thru 6 have been completed, you’ll receive your official Mu Alpha Sigma, Inc., membership certificate and ID card at your public Crossover ceremony.
Step 8: Participate in both the private and public Crossover ceremonies (both on same day).
